It is a mother’s natural instinct to want to breastfeed her newborn, in most cases new mothers give up breastfeeding within the first few days following the birth due to the lack of support and guidance and most commonly the pain and damage to the breast when baby is not properly attached. Mothers are left unsupported and will turn to formula feeding out of desperation.

The world health organisation recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and continuous breastfeeding until the child is aged at least 2 years.
Breastfeeding is the normal way of providing young infants with the nutrients they need for healthy growth and development. Most mothers are able to breastfeed, provided they have accurate information and support to do so.

If you would like general support and advice before or after the birth or are having difficulties, Our breastfeeding counsellors will come to your home and offer their professional expertise and experience for as long as required.
