As a professional nanny, your employer may have asked you to become Ofsted registered. Parent can claim financial support by claiming for tax credits through the childcare voucher schemes, therefore the obvious childcare choice for most parents is to employ an Ofsted registered nanny.
The Parent & Child Nanny Agency highly recommends that all child carers registered with the agency become also registered with Ofsted. Chances of employment are far greater and you will be more sought after.

Registration is quick and easy, the only thing that can delay the process is the CRB check. Depending on how many different addresses the nanny has had in the past 5 years it can in some cases take several months for the CRB check to return.

1. To register with Ofsted you will need the following:
   - A recognised childcare qualification
   - a first aid certificate
   - public liability insurance

3. The Enhanced CRB disclosure is undertaken as part of the Ofsted registration process. Even if you have a recent CRB you will have to go through the process as stipulated by Ofsted.
