Nanny:
A nanny is someone with a good degree of childcare experience
and/or qualifications. A nanny can be shared or sole charge
and will be responsible for your children whilst on duty,
and carry out nursery duties only.
Nanny Share:
This is where two families employ one nanny to care for their
children together. In this circumstance the families share
the costs of the nanny and the nanny has a slightly higher
rate of pay.
Baby sitter:
A baby sitter is someone who will care for your child for an
evening or overnight. A baby sitters duties will normally
include putting children to bed and safeguarding them until
the parents return home.
Housekeeper:
A housekeeper is responsible for the day to day running of a household. Housekeepers
duties normally include childcare, shopping, cleaning and cooking for the
whole family.
Mothers help:
Someone who will work alongside and support the parent. Often
a Mothers help will be an extra pair of hands and will generally
muck in with childcare and light domestic duties.
Maternity Nanny:
Normally employed for several weeks before and after the birth
providing 24 hour support for mother and baby, encouraging
good sleeping and feeding routines.
