The position required: Nanny/Housekeeper
Location: Bovey Tracey, Devon
Position start date: 01/09/2024 Flexible start date
Requirements: Permanent nanny, Full-time nanny, Live-out nanny, Part-time nanny
Duties: Nursery duties, Cooking meals, Trips and outings, Taking to play/toddler groups, Driving children, General tidying, Laundry and ironing, Light housekeeping
Nanny responsibility: The nanny will have sole charge
Preferred nanny attributes: Childcare experience, DBS, Available for babysitting and overtime, Non-smoker

Nanny duties and expectations
We are a busy family of six, with two full time working parents and four children of a variety of ages and needs looking for a full or part time live out nanny (hours TBA) to support our busy household!

During term times, the nanny will mostly be caring for the baby during the day, inside the home and on outings/walks/baby clubs etc.

The two middle boys of primary school age (9 and 5) will require collection from school at 3.30pm and after school care which may include feeding them unless eating with us later, and then the occasional school drop off in the morning at 8.45am locally.

In the school holidays the middle two children will be at home and require feeding/entertaining too, although they also attend holiday club a few days a week.

Our eldest daughter is at full time secondary school currently taking her GCSEs and is pretty independent.

We currently have a cleaner who comes twice a week to do cleaning and ironing services which could continue, but would ideally like to combine these noting that three of the four children are in full time education outside of the house during the week. If preferred, the cleaner could still be available for ‘proper cleaning’ with the Nanny supporting light tidying/laundry etc around the children during the day. Cooking for them and if possible, a family evening meal would also be preferable. Shopping to be provided without the need for grocery shopping as part of his/her duties.

Private gym/club membership at David Lloyd in Exeter for nanny and children (including kids clubs) and access to a car during working hours that is big enough for all four children can be provided, although typically there is only the three youngest children who may require transport during the week.

If occasional evening babysitting and very occasional overnight care to support work trips away was also available this would also be a plus.

All four children are happy, settled and generally very well behaved and in a good routine. Importantly though, our 5-year-old is currently undergoing assessment for mild to moderate neurodivergence and is a child who requires some careful management and attention. Experience of this or a candidate who is able to understand these needs would be beneficial.
