Nanny duties and expectations

We are currently seeking a wonderful, organised and professional Nanny/Housekeeper for our highly recommended, long-term clients who live just outside Bovey Tracey on the foot of Dartmoor.

The family have three lovely daughters, twins aged 10 years old and the eldest daughter is 12 years old.
The three children attend private school and will need to be driven to and from school most days during term times (approx. 45 minutes).

The role is largely housekeeping based during term times and requires an energetic, motivated, and knowledgeable nanny with experience in housekeeping and house management. The family employs a team of cleaners so there is no deep cleaning required. During the 18 weeks of school holidays, the Nanny will take the girls on outings, social engagements and organise fun activities at home.

The ideal candidate will be sympathetic, nurturing and engaging with a happy disposition. The nanny will promote a sense of wellbeing, encourage the children to be responsible for their own tidying/organising, teach good manners and have excellent communication skills so the parents and the nanny together can offer a great sense of continuity.

Both parents are professionals and sometimes work away from home and therefore may need some weekends, overnights and overtime.

Duties include:

  • Sole charge childcare for three girls
  • Organising enriching, educational and fun activities during the school holidays
  • Organising social engagements
  • School runs from Bovey Tracey to Lympstone
  • Taking the children to regular afterschool sport clubs
