The position required: Nanny
Location: Plymouth, Devon
Position start date: 01/03/2025 Flexible start date
Requirements: Permanent nanny, Live-out nanny, Part-time nanny
Duties: Cooking meals, Trips and outings, Taking to play/toddler groups, Driving children, General tidying, Laundry and ironing, Light housekeeping
Nanny responsibility: The nanny will have a mixture of sole and shared charge
Preferred nanny attributes: Childcare qualifications, DBS, Paediatric first aid training, Driver, Outdoorsy, Swimmer, Cooking skills, Available for babysitting and overtime, Non-smoker

Nanny duties and expectations
Mothers help for 3 days a week whilst Mum is working from home. Help with running the house and prepping meals until collecting both children from nursery. Then helping mum with dinner, playtime, bathing and then bed time. On Thursdays, the youngest child is not in nursery so more childcare duties during the day (timing is flexible) and then helping mum in the evenings again. Dad works 8 weeks away, 8 weeks back home.

Days of work: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday
Monday: 1500 – 2000
Tuesday: 1500 – 2000
Thursday: 0900 – 2000

Variation in hours: The hours remain the same all year round

Further details about child 1: He is a very active 2 year old who loves meeting and playing with other people and children. He is very sociable and once he is familiar with someone, he is very tactile and loving. He loves cars, trains, planes and balls. He attends nursery 3 days a week.

Further details: She is quieter and calmer than her big brother but is equally happy and loves other babies, children and adults. She enjoys being outside. Indie chews anything she can reach. She will be starting nursery 2 days a week from March.

Parent 2 is: The Mother and works partly at home and partly away from home
Parenting style: Good with routine & consistent, patient, fun, loving, structured. Firm but calm.

Further details: Large 4 bed (soon to be 5 bed) semi-detached 1920’s house. We bought it in February 2023 to have space to have all the children when they stay, with a good size garden and a playroom.

Details: Dad has 3 children from a previous relationship (15, 14 & 11) and they stay on alternating weekends or on an ad hoc basis when Dad is working away.

Salary and perks
Salary offered: £14 – £16 gross per hour
Car use: The nanny must provide their own car for work
