Reference Policy

The Parent & Child Nanny Agency recognises the importance of gaining employment and character references for all our childcare professionals due to the positions we offer working with children, young and vulnerable people.

In completing an online reference, you are confirming that you meet the criteria set out below.

These references will inform our decision on the suitability of the childcare professional to work with
children, young and vulnerable people.

Please ensure that the information provided is honest and accurate to the best of your knowledge.

  • The employment reference must be completed by a current or former employer of the applicant for any period.
  • A character reference must be completed by a person who is not related to the applicant and who has known the applicant for a minimum period of 3 years.

Under the Data Protection Act 2018, The Parent & Child Nanny Agency may be required to provide the reference to relevant clients or the applicant. If the referee is not happy for this to happen, please mark the reference as “In Confidence”
